What have Kids in the Hall comedians (Dave Foley, Keven McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney, Scott Thompson) gone on to after the show?

The Kids in the Hall (KITH) was a Canadian comedy troupe featuring comedians Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson. KITH had a regular sketch comedy show on CBC in Canada from 1988 to 1994, which also aired on CBS and HBO in the United States from 1989 to 1995. The group made a movie together in 1996 called Brain Candy. Following the demise of the show, the group reunited for cross-Canada tours in 2000 and 2008, as well as to perform at the Just For Laughs festival in 2007. The individual members of KITH have had varied careers in between troupe-related events.

Dave Foley

Post-KITH, Dave Foley’s most significant television role was in the series NewsRadio, which was written specifically for him and based largely on his real personality. Foley has had guest appearances on over 40 other television shows in Canada and the United States. His most well known movies include The Wrong Guy (which he co-wrote), A Bug’s Life, Blast from the Past and Sky High. Foley became the host of Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown in 2004. He has had two marriages, two divorces and three children.

Kevin McDonald

Kevin McDonald’s biggest movie roles since KITH the TV series wrapped are in Lilo & Stitch and Sky High. He has had smaller roles in a variety of other films and television programs including Ellen, That 70s Show, Seinfeld, Friends, NewsRadio, Arrested Development and Corner Gas. McDonald has also done extensive voice work for animated films and television series. He hosted a CBC television special called Sketch with Kevin McDonald in 2006.

Bruce McCulloch

Bruce McCulloch has enjoyed success as an actor, writer, director and musician since the end of KITH. He has released two comedy albums titled Shamed-Based Man and Drunk Baby Project. He directed the video for The Tragically Hip’s My Music at Work in 2000. As a writer, his projects include working at Saturday Night Live, the romantic comedy Comeback Season and ABC’s Carpoolers. In addition to KITH, he has appeared on the television series Twitch City and Gilmore Girls. McCulloch acted as director for the films Dog Park, Stealing Harvard and Superstar.

Mark McKinney

Following the conclusion of KITH, Mark McKinney starred on Saturday Night Live from 1995 to 1997. He co-created, wrote and starred in the acclaimed Slings and Arrows from 2003 to 2006. McKinney’s films appearances include SNL spin-offs Superstar, The Ladies Man and A Night at the Roxbury, as well as Guy Maddin's The Saddest Music in the World and the Spice Girls movie Spice World. He has taken the stage for several theatre performances and had small roles in Robson Arms, Corner Gas and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

Scott Thompson

Scott Thompson followed his KITH days with appearances in television shows like The Larry Sanders Show, Politically Incorrect, The Late Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Train 48. Thompson hosted season one of a Canadian reality television program called My Fabulous Gay Wedding. He has had roles in a variety of movies and toured extensively with his live comedy shows. He maintains a website called Scottland.com.

KITH To Reunite In 2010

It looks like the Kids will be reuniting once again in 2010. LA Weekly reports that all the original members of Kids in the Hall are developing a new eight-part miniseries called Death Comes to Town to be aired first on CBC and later on U.S. television.
