Jennifer Love Hewitt steps out with new love Jamie Kennedy after the heartbreak of a broken engagement.
Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt has recently been showing off her new main squeeze. Ghost Whisperer co-stars Jamie Kennedy and Hewitt have been spotted out and about together more and more. The couple, who have been quietly dating since mid-January, have been more vocal about their relationship and Hewitt’s break-up with ex-fiancé Ross McCall. The Break UpHewitt had been dating Scottish actor Ross McCall since 2005 and the couple became engaged in November 2007. The couple didn’t announce any wedding plans but were seen frolicking together on vacation and photographed running errands. McCall and Hewitt were photographed mid-fight in 2008 but chocked it up to “every couple fights”. However, late-January 2009, Hewitt graced the cover of Us Weekly with the headline Why She Called Off Her Wedding. Hewitt and McCall had set a date for a Spring 2009 destination wedding and she had even bought a dress but the engagement was called off and the couple subsequently broke up. Former Ghost Whisperer set workers told the magazine that they weren’t surprised the couple had broken up. Former costume supervisor Claudia Wick tells the magazine Hewitt was “so needy and immature” and constantly needed McCall around her. Wick goes on to detail the drama: “She would drag him on the set and then pout and they'd fight. Mainly, it was her needing something from him: 'Can you say you love me?'" The Co-StarKennedy has been a co-star on the current season, season 4, of Hewitt’s CBS Show Ghost Whisperer and the duo had been seen eating together and spending time together outside of work; Kennedy accompanied Hewitt to her Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed birthday party. The new couple finally put the rumors to rest; Kennedy went on Ryan Seacrest’s morning show and told him, “We’re more than dating…we’re more than in love.” He went on to add that they have an “intense” connection. He and Hewitt made their first official public appearance as a couple a few days later at the Country Music Awards in April. Kennedy joked with E! News that he was happy to be Hewitt’s “plus one” at the party. Hewitt was recently a guest on Ellen DeGeneres’s talk show and she gushed about her romance with Kennedy. “Break-ups are awful, they’re really painful, they hurt,” she told DeGeneres. “But what I think is great about life is the universe always brings you something really beautiful and great afterwards - and that's kind of where I am now, so it's OK." She goes on to say the she and Kennedy had been friends for a long time and after her break-up with McCall, she realized it was more than just friendship between them.
